Camp guidelines & refund policy
Communication & registration
By registering you give permission for Transitions Acres to communicate electronically with the email provided (confirmations, what to bring, updates). Please add our address to your contacts so emails aren’t missed.
Custody & guardianship
The parent/guardian submitting the application must have legal custody of the camper. Any custody conditions must be communicated in writing along with a copy of any relevant court order.
Conduct & dismissal
Transitions Acres reserves the right to dismiss a camper who is a threat to the safety or rights of others or themselves, or who rejects reasonable controls. If a camper is dismissed, the parent/guardian must pick them up and no refund will be issued. Guardians are responsible for any willful damage caused by their camper.
Disclosure of needs
If a camper has physical, emotional, developmental or behavioural needs, particularly any requiring special attention, describe them fully by email. We retain the right to dismiss any camper whose condition was not fully disclosed during the application process.
First aid & medical
You authorize our personnel to handle first aid or general sickness. If treatment beyond our capacity or 911 is required, we’ll make every reasonable attempt to notify the guardian; the guardian is responsible for transportation and additional care costs. Campers must be covered by Provincial Health Insurance or equivalent throughout camp.
Cancellation & refunds
Cancel before July 1, 2026 for a refund minus a $150 administration fee. After July 1, 2026, no refunds. Campers may move to an earlier week but not a later one. Fees are non-transferable. No refunds for dismissal, late arrival, early departure, lice, homesickness, a one-on-one requirement, or sickness. Refunds are processed in September.
Behavioural, physical or medical support
Campers participate in small groups supervised by staff and volunteers. A camper who finds group participation challenging (following directions, safe choices, speech, toileting, flight-risk or comprehension) is welcome to join us, but requires a one-on-one worker provided by the family. Failure to inform us of these needs will result in the camper requiring a family-provided one-on-one worker for the remainder of the week. We are not responsible if a one-on-one worker cannot be arranged, and a refund will not be issued.
